In this post, I’m writing about the simple and official ways to install Opera on some major operating systems, like Windows, Mac, and Linux.

Opera is considered a good chromium-based web browser.
It’s usually preferred either by social media users or the ones who are conscious about their online privacy.

How Do I Download Opera on Computer?

To help you understand the procedure of downloading Opera on a computer, I will be writing about the three operating systems individually. So you can understand the right way of installing this free browser on your device.
- Opera for Windows
A good thing is that Opera is available for Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8, and Windows 7. So usually you don’t face any issues while installing it manually.
But in case you want to be aware of the proper steps to complete this task, perform the following steps:
a. Click here to visit the Official Opera source.
b. Click on the Download button to initiate its installation.
c. Follow the onscreen instructions on the installer window.
d. Once Opera is installed, you will be allowed to launch it on your system.
Now, You can navigate to Settings >> Apps >> Default Apps to select Opera as a default web browser. - Opera for Mac
Mac users can also benefit from this fast web browser. They can install Opera on iMac, Macbook Air, and Macbook Pro.
a. Go to the official Opera website and select your Mac device (Intel-based or M1).
b. Download the file of Opera from it.
c. Launch the installer and click on Accept and Download
d. After downloading the file, you need to launch it to start the installation process.
e. Once the installation is completed, click on the Close button to exit the installation wizard. - Opera for Linux
On different distributions of Linux, you can install Opera. Distributions like Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, etc allow you to install the Beta or Dev channel of Microsoft Edge.
a. After downloading the file of Opera Stable, launch it.
b. From the Installer’s interface, click on the Install button.
c. The installation will start and complete by itself.
d. Once the installation of Opera for Linux is completed, the browser will launch by itself.

If you ask for the truth, I would never say that Opera is better than Chrome. Because Google Chrome has more security protocols and is resource-rich as compared to any version of Opera.
No, Opera in a Norwegian browser. Meaning, that it’s developed by the people of Norway, and that’s why it’s supported by many gamers and crypto users.
